INSIDE

Immersive Art Installation
to build empathy

The Project

“INSIDE” is an immersive installation that focuses on the emotional world of a person affected by anorexia.

The mental illness is often misunderstood as merely a visual dissatisfaction with one's body. What is overlooked is the complexity of its root cause and that it’s not fixed if they would “just start eating again.”

The goal of this project is to help build empathy for affected people and break down the mystic barrier of what’s going on INSIDE.

Anorexia

Anorexia nervosa is a serious mental health disorder characterized by an intense fear of gaining weight and a distorted body image, leading to self-starvation and significant weight loss. Anorexia can have devastating effects on physical health, including organ damage, bone loss, and infertility, as well as profound emotional and social consequences.

“Love is what people who suffer from Anorexia need the most even though they try so hard to fight against it

Empathy is the first step towards a conversation and a supportive relationship in a journey to health.”

The
